Location: West of Sheffield, near Lodge Moor Hospital, overlooking the Rivelin valley.
Directions: A57 West toward Manchester, past Sheffield University, through Broomhill, then bear right for about 1/2 a mile.
Fork left by Crosspool Tavern, off A57, for about 2 miles past the hospital.
Site is on Redmires Road, behind the Sportsman pub on the left.
Parking: Please park in the car park immediately after the pub (rusty white gates), not in the pub car park
Flying Area: 100m by 200m smooth grass, slight slope.
Comments: Good general flying site, slight wind shadow from trees at top of field.
Sheffield Kite Fliers request that users of the site have 3rd party liability insurance, abide by their safety guidleines (see website)
and use a safety leash (kite killer) on power kites due to the close proximity of the pub and road.
