Location: 4 miles North of Hove

Road Info: A27 turnings from West to East in this sequence - Devils Dyke, Gatwick A23, Ditchling/Hollingbury, Stanmer (Falmer)

Directions: From Brighton take the Dyke Road B2121 north out of the town. Cross Brighton by-pass and continue north following signs to Devils Dyke.
From any other direction take the Brighton by-pass A27 and take the slip road at the junction at the top of the hill north of Brighton on to the B2121, travelling north and following signs to Devils Dyke.

Parking: Large free car park, which can be crowded when the weather is good.

Facilities: Devil's Dyke Inn - food served almost all day.

Accessibility: Only by car, foot or bike. Nearest railway station:- Hove.
There is a dedicated Open Top 'bus service to the Devil's Dyke from Brighton (rail, I think) Station.
But its even more fun to cycle there from Southwick or Shoreham by Sea Stations.

Flying Area: Several acres. Kite flyers usually drive to the eastern end of the car park and fly there.

Comments: The area is used extensively by hang gliders when the weather is good and the wind is N or NW.
Model planes are also in evidence when winds are light.
A lot of walkers and cyclists pass through the flying area, and great care must be exercised by power kiters.
