Directions: one entry to Jet Amber fields is via public foot path off Hyde road on Hyde side of border follow foot path under motor way along the Tame river past football field on right which is no good for kites too small. pathway bends will come to split in path go to right will lead to canal and gate way onto main hill field, go to left path will bend sharply to left over old army bridge on right is gate way to hill which is steep and rough but good for kites
You can get to hill field via St Annes road follow road almost to end on left factory and houses on right small wood and entrance head for back of entrance down the hill across bridge
Parking: only on either St Annes Road or Hyde Road
Facilities: the usual pubs shops
Accessibility: not too bad wheel chairs will need help.
Flying Area: plenty of space especially when live stock not there, land can be marshy wellinton boots good idea trainers in summer
Comments: Be mindful of local kids, gangs with beer cans and so on.
Jet Amber field hill flying site is not owned by Lancashire or Oldham - its in the authority of Tameside, but
owned by Manchester City Council - and patrolled by Tameside Countryside Wardens.
