Location: On the B651, 1 mile S of Wheathampstead.
Directions: Approach on the B651 from either Wheathampstead or Sandridge.
At a crossroads on the common, take the Westerly turn. Car park 200yds on the left.
Parking: Free parking for 20-30 cars. Gets full on fine weekends.
Facilities: Ice cream van at weekends in fine weather. "Wicked Lady" pub/steak house a couple of hundred yards N of the crossroads.
Pub down the road almost opposite the car park.
Accessibility: Flying area immediately adjacent to the car park, or walk a little further if you like.
Comments: Always a few families with toy shop kites on a fine Sat/Sun afternoon and usually a few more serious flyers.
Also used occasionally for model aircraft (on the far side) and model rockets. Watch out for dog dirt.
