Flying Area: Large flat "Forest lawn" with very close cropped grass and a few small gorse bushes.
Comments: Winds can be lighter than would be expected from the size and location of the site and erratic particularly at ground level.
New Forest ponies and cows will generally drift away slowly, and are not startled by kites unless buzzed by foolish flyers.
Horse riders in area, show courtesy, even if they don't, and down stunt kites while they pass.
Buggying not permitted by Forestry Commission staff.
