Location: South of Chelmsford, North of the A12

Directions: From A12 (S. of Chelmsford) take B1007 North to Galleywood, and after 100 yards on the right and left you are surrounded by Galleywood Common, or rather the best bit for flying....an old pre-war race course in fact.

>From Chelmsford centre, take B1007 SW, Essex Cricket Ground turn left at lights, towards Billericay, 1 mile straight over Miami roundabout.
After 3 miles pass Eagle Pub, and come to same stretch of Galleywood Common.

Parking: free to West of B1007, on left hand side (from A12) or right (from Chelmsford). HERE

Facilities: No toilets - who needs them - huge area of gorse & bracken covered common.
Running Mare, The Eagle, a general store just beyond the Eagle on B1007.
A chippy behind the Eagle on The Street, off Watchouse Road.

Accessibility:

Flying Area: Half mile long by 150 yards on either side of B1007. Best fly on the East side, as there are some horse training schools on the west side of the B1007.

Comments: Radical Fly-in's every 3rd Sunday of the month from 10.00am.
Experts and novice flyers welcome. Freestyle, buggy etc. Bring your kites and try a few. In conjunction with Whaam Kites.
