OS Grid Ref: SS 454 434 Landranger: 180 -
Multimap Link
Height ASL: Sea Level! - CAA Limit: 60 metres
Location: North Devon coast
Directions: Follow the A361 from the M5, through Barnstaple and then Woolacombe is signed.
Parking: Two car parks near beach entrance, price varies with season.
Another car park on Marine Drive, this is cheaper but beach access is not as good.
Facilities: In the summer everything. Winter 300m toilets, 300m pub.
Accessibility: From the boathouse, very easy although in the summer you will need to walk 400M
Flying Area: Miles of golden sand. Beach quality varies from perfect to very bumpy, usually dry.
Good buggy site. Dunes border the beach for extra fun.
Comments: Technically the area from the cliff to Mill Rock is a private beach and in the summer they discourage buggies in that area. All other kites OK.
Best buggying is out of season, good onshore winds and the beach is smoother.
