GOG Xmas Bash + Absent Friends Fly-in
16-17 December 2017
Gits Attending:- Keith, Alan O & Anne, Sandra & Andrew & Janet, Alan C & Lynne, Bob & Carole,
Dicky & Janette, Nigel & Wendy, Roy & Marilyn and at the last minute there was Jacqui!

As per GOG tradition, hearty appetites were satisfied by a monster Saturday FEB at the Toby Carvery

Then we discovered Wendy's Guilty Pleasure - she is a Toastmistress General!

Saturday afternoon visited Milestones Museum Leisure Park, Churchill Way West RG22 6PG

we had a wonderful time wandering around...

It was a bit odd to find that many exhibits were everyday things from our childhood years!

The bar and the sweetie shop were very popular!

They also had a nice café that had "parsnip, apple & cumin soup" on the menu - nice and very filling!

Then all back to the Travelodge to freshen up, and a minibus from there to...
Saturday night eating & drinking too much at The Bounty Inn, 81 Bounty Rd, Basingstoke RG21 3BZ

How many people does it take to put a plastic crown on a lady ukelele player???

Then Keith managed to get a Skype call going to Marble Falls - "Come in Gayle & Christian!"

There was so much noise in the pub - it was all a tad chaotic!

The "children" had a lot of party poppers - which Dicky just LOVED!

There was a certain amount of posing...

then minibus back to the Travelodge, a few "nightcaps", and a very good night's sleep,

Sunday morning FEB at The Stag & Hounds

"Remember Absent Friends" in the Jollyup field
memorial bench engraved back rest
with Ron's Dancing Diamonds, Kelvin's Butterflies, Phil's Flames
+ a very welcome coffee & mince pie from Roy & Marilyn - THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

We also brought one of Les Reed's Skydancer kites and a bottle of sarsaparilla! But the weather
turned very wet, so late-comers decided to keep their kites dry, and preferred hot coffee to sarsaparilla!

"Then we all went home for lunch!"
